National Baseball Hall of Fame - Open Daily 9:00 am to 9:00 pm The Hall of Fame provides a variety of entertaining, educational programming daily during their summer season.  Enjoy costumed presentations, trivia games, artifact spotlights, and more.  A detailed schedule of events is provided for visitors upon entry. While at the Museum, visit the Baseball Hall of Fame Gift Shop featuring apparel, novelties, books, and more celebrating America’s Pastime.  Admission: $16.50 for adults, $11 for seniors, $6.50 for children 7-12, free for children 6 & under and Hall of Fame Members. 

Fenimore Art Museum Open Daily 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Fenimore Museum Shop features elegant museum reproduction jewelry, fine works of art by local artisans, and a wide variety of books for children and adults alike. The Native American Shop features original Native American jewelry and crafts as well as a wide selection of publications.  Admission: $11.00 for adults, $9.50 for seniors, $5.00 for children 7-12, free for children 6 & under. 

The Farmers’ Museum Open Daily 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Visit The Farmers’ Museum Shop and Todd’s General Store for unique gift items including old favorites and new products.  Admission: Adults $11.00, Seniors $9.50, $5.00 for children 7-12, free for children 6 & under.

Farmers’ Museum Exhibits – Ice Cream: Our Cool Obsession ~ The Empire State Carousel, a beautiful example of a traditional country fair ride (called “the museum you can ride on”) ~ The Country Fair Featuring the Cardiff Giant. 

Baseball Hall of Fame Exhibits – “Home Games: A Century of Baseball Games from the Collection of Dr. Mark Cooper” features an assortment of games from the Philadelphia-area resident and long-time baseball fan  ~ “Diamond Dreams: Women in Baseball” pays tribute to women’s roles in the National Pastime ~ “Pride & Passion” examines the Negro Leagues and the contributions of African Americans to the Game ~ “Sacred Ground”, one of the Hall of Fame’s most popular exhibits, pays tribute to the fan connection to ballparks.

Fourth of July Parade- The ultimate small-town America parade starts at 11:00 a.m. in Springfield Center (11 miles north of Cooperstown).  Stop by the Concierge Desk to pick up a flag to wave at the procession.

Grand Old 4th of July at The Farmers’ Museum – Festooned with patriotic banners and bunting, The Farmers’ Museum hosts a typical 1845 celebration of our nation’s birthday that includes patriotic music, games, dances, and orations.

Baseball Hall of Fame – 1:00 p.m. “Baseball and Our Presidents”.  Mel Marmer, a retired Cincinnati attorney and lifetime baseball fan, combines his interest in U.S. Presidential history and baseball to present an educational and entertaining program on our two national pastimes: baseball and the Presidency.  This program is included with Museum admission and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Otesaga Hotel Activities

The Leatherstocking Golf Course – The Otesaga Resort features the historic Leatherstocking Golf Course designed by Devereux Emmet in 1909.  The Golf Shop offers golf carts, a full line of golf attire and equipment rentals.  Tee times are available beginning at 7:00 a.m.  Starting time reservation and proper Resort golf attire are required. Please call the Pro Shop at Ext. 7546 for arrangements.  

The Leatherstocking Golf Course Driving Range – A state-of-the-art facility located ¾ of a mile north of The Otesaga on Lake Road, on the far side of The Fenimore Art Museum, or across the street from the 10th fairway of The Golf Course.  The range consists of 33,000 square feet of natural grass tee areas, target greens and practice bunkers.  The charge for a basket of 60 golf balls is $5.00 and may be purchased either at the range or at The Golf Shop. 

Golf Lessons – Nationally-known PGA Head Instructor Ron Philo directs the golf-teaching program and is available on a daily basis for lessons.   The hourly charge for a lesson is $150. 

Pool or Lake Swimming – The Resort features a heated outdoor pool and the refreshing waters of Lake Otsego.  Towels are provided for our guests at the pool and the dock.  The pool is open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.  (Lap swimming from 7:00 am to 10:00 am.)  Children less than 16 years of age must at all times be accompanied by an adult responsible for their safety. 

Canoes are available for rent at $10.00 per hour at the Hotel Dock, weather permitting. 

The Game Room is open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and is located on the Lower Lobby Level.  

Croquet – Our croquet court is located on the back lawn overlooking Otsego Lake.  Equipment is located courtside. 

Hotel Front Lawn – Please feel free to use our front lawn for Frisbee, wiffle ball, games of tag, and other family activities. 

The Fitness Center with strength and cardiovascular equipment is located in the Lower Lobby.  There is no charge for the use of this equipment.  You can gain entry to the Fitness Center using your room key.  To use the equipment you must be 16 years of age or older.  Hours are 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. The Clark Sports Center is also available to Hotel guests for a fee (Closed Monday).  Located one mile from The Hotel, the Center features aerobics, fitness center, swimming, bowling, racquetball, squash, and adventure climbing. Call 547-2800 for fees and information or contact the Hotel Concierge. 

Tennis – Two all-weather tennis courts are located directly across the street from The Hotel.  There is no court charge.  Courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please see the Bellmen for further information as well as Adult and Junior racquet rentals. Guests provide their own tennis balls, which may be purchased in the hotel Gift Shop. 

The Gift Shop – Our Gift Shop is located in the Main Lobby where you may purchase sundries, newspapers and a selection of clothing and unique gifts.  Be sure to visit our new Gentlemen’s Corner in the Shop.  Open 7:30 am to 9:00 pm. 

DVD Rentals – For your entertainment, DVD players along with a selection of movies can be rented through the Bell Stand, Ext. 7515.

Children are welcome and “Hay You” the Clown will be there to entertain them.  Meet John and Nancy Irvin as well as others from the resort’s management team. Jackets requested for the gentlemen. 

6:00–8:30 pm Dinner in the Main Dining Room with music by the RMS Jazz Trio. Jackets are required for the gentlemen in the Main Dining Room.  Or dine in The Hawkeye Grill from 5:30 to 9:30 pm where reservations are required. 

7:30 pm Family Night at The Movies - “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium” (Rated G) Equal parts whimsical and bittersweet, this is a family-friendly movie that will charm youngsters and adults alike.  Join us in The Council Rock Room on the lower level where snacks and fruit drinks will be served.  Children age 4 and under must be accompanied by an adult.  

8:00–10:00 pm “Hay You” the Clown will be in the Main Lobby to perform magic and make balloon sculptures for the kids!

2:30–4:00 pm Pool Party.  Meet in the pool for bottle races, a balloon contest, Piranha tag, and a crocodile crossing! 

3:00 – 4:00 pm Cooking Demonstration, Tasting and Classic Cocktails with Executive Chef David Lockwood, CEC and Beverage Manager Chad Douglass in the Fenimore Room, Followed by a Tour of our Kitchen.  As our 100th Anniversary approaches, Chef Lockwood will prepare the classic dish, Lamb Chops Monte Carlo.  Accompanying the tasting, Beverage Manager Chad Douglass will demonstrate the traditional recipe for a Muddled Old Fashioned and the proper technique for preparing a Mojito.  

4:00–5:00 pm Afternoon Tea & Coffee in the Lobby.  Enjoy a long-time tradition with family and friends while listening to piano music by Dan Soccorso. 

4:30 pm Magic Show with “Hay You” the ClownJoin “Hay You” in the Natty Bumppo Room for a fun-filled Magic Show that children of all ages will enjoy.  Children under 4 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

7:30–9:00 pm  Templeton LoungeExperience some of Cooperstown’s local talent with lively music by local band Misty Cheese.  Featuring singer-songwriter Karl Lowenguth, Misty Cheese is a group of talented high school students who regularly play local venues.  Their repertoire includes The Beatles, jazz, rock and roll, and spirited original tunes.   

From 9:00 pm to 12:00 am Panther Creek will be providing music for your dancing and listening pleasure.

8:00–10:00 pm “Hay You” the Clown will be in the Main Lobby to make balloon sculptures and perform magic for the kids! 

8:00 pm Family Bingo in the Ballroom. Come for a great time and win the money pot.  $1.00 per card and it all goes back to the winners.  Great prizes for all ages!

9:00 pm   Ghost Stories on Otsego Lake – Join local historian and author Bruce Markusen on the hotel dock as he tells ghost stories including the eerie history of Cooperstown and Otsego Lake.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  (Ghost Stories will be held in the Oak Room in the event of inclement weather.)

1:00–2:30 pm Fishing Derby – Catch a whopper! Win a ribbon in our Fishing Derby!  Meet at the Dock where poles and bait are provided.  Parents must accompany children under 12.  New York State Fishing Licenses are required for individuals aged 15 and older.  See the Concierge for further information. 

3:00–4:00 pm Ice Cream Social – Join “Hay You” on the Front Lawn to make your own complimentary sundae with all the toppings!
